TRANSPORT

The Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166 of the Transport Act 1968(1) and now vested in him(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1968 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2003.

2.  Section 99 of the Transport Act 1968, in so far as it is not already in force(3), shall come into force on 1st September 2003.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1st September 2003 those provisions of the Transport Act 1968 which are not already in force. Those provisions are the outstanding parts of section 99, of which subsections (1) to (9) were commenced in 1970 except in so far as they relate to the entry and inspection of any vehicle or to any equipment installed on any vehicle for the purposes of section 97 of the Act or any such record as is mentioned in that section. This Order removes the exception and brings into force subsection (10).

Section 99(1)-(9) was brought into force by S.I. 1970/259, subject to exceptions.
