National Loans Act 1968

15.—(1) The National Loans Act 1968(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In subsection (7) of section 14(2) (exchange of securities etc.), for “Bank of England” there is substituted “Registrar of Government Stock”.

(3) In subsection (7) of section 16(3) (supplemental provisions as to national debt), for “Bank of England”, wherever occurring, there is substituted “Registrar of Government Stock”.

Section 16 was amended by the Post Office Act 1969 (c. 48), section 141 and Schedule 11; the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970 (c. 10), section 538(1) and Schedule 16; the Finance Act 1971 (c. 68), sections 68, 69(7) and Schedule 14, Part VII; the National Debt Act 1972 (c. 65), section 17(1) and the Schedule; the Finance Act 1981 (c. 35), section 139(6) and Schedule 19, Part XII; the Finance Act 1989 (c. 26), section 187 and Schedule 17, Part XIV; the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1993 (c. 50); the Finance Act 1996 (c. 8), section 202(4); and S.I. 2002/2521, article 10(1) and Schedule 1, paragraph 5.
