In these Regulations—

  • the “1996 Act” means the Employment Rights Act 1996 M1;

  • F5the “2006 Act” means the Companies Act 2006;

  • F1“the Companies Acts” has the meaning given by section 2 of F6the 2006 Act;

  • “SE” means a European Public Limited-Liability Company (or Societas Europaea) within the meaning of the EC Regulation F8, as it had effect immediately before IP completion day, and, except as provided in these Regulations, means an SE F9... F7registered in the United Kingdom.

  • F10“UK Societas” means an SE on or after IP completion day.

Except as otherwise provided in these Regulations, words and expressions F2defined for the purposes of the Companies Acts have the same meaning in these Regulations.

Except as otherwise provided in these Regulations, words and expressions which are used in the EC Regulation F13... have the same meaning as they have in that RegulationF14....

Where a word or expression is both F3defined as mentioned in paragraph (2) and used in the EC Regulation F11..., it has the meaning it has in that Regulation F12... except as otherwise provided in these Regulations.
