The Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No.19) (England) Order 2004

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 122 of the Care Standards Act 20001 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, interpretation and application1

This Order may be cited as the Care Standards Act 2000 (Commencement No.19) (England) Order 2004.

In this Order “the Act” means the Care Standards Act 2000.

This Order applies to England only.

Appointed Days2

1st March 2004 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act, in so far as they relate to the General Social Care Council2—

a

section 56 (the register) in so far as it is not already in force; and

b

section 55(3)(g) (interpretation) in so far as it relates to that section.

This Order provides for the coming into force on 1st March 2004 of sections 56(1)(b), (2) and (4) and section 55(3)(g) of the Care Standards Act 2000, in so far as they relate to the General Social Care Council.

The provisions are commenced in England only.
