The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 141(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (1), hereby makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Sexual Offences Act 2003 (Commencement) Order 2004.
(2) This Order does not extend to Scotland.
2. The Sexual Offences Act 2003 shall come into force on 1st May 2004 in so far as it is not already in force.

This Order brings the provisions of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 that extend to England, Wales and Northern Ireland into force on 1st May 2004 in so far as they are not already in force. Sections 138 and 141 to 143 came into force on Royal Assent.
