The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by sections 1(9), 16(3), 34(1) and 52(1) of, and paragraph 10(b) of Schedule 4 and paragraph 4(5) of Schedule 5 to, the Human Tissue Act 2004(1).

In accordance with section 52(8) and (9) of that Act she has consulted with the National Assembly for Wales, the relevant Northern Ireland Department(2) and the Scottish Ministers on the proposal to make the Regulations.

See section 54(1) which defines “relevant Northern Ireland department” as the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety.
