The Consumer Credit Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 71(2) of the Consumer Credit Act 20061.

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Consumer Credit Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006.

Interpretation2

In this Order “the Act” means the Consumer Credit Act 2006.

Commencement3

The provisions of the Act specified in Schedule 1 shall come into force on 16th June 2006.

The provisions of the Act specified in Schedule 2 shall come into force on 1st October 2006.

This Order brings into force certain provisions of the Consumer Credit Act 2006, which amend the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

The provisions in Schedule 1 come into force on 16th June 2006 and the provisions in Schedule 2 come into force on 1st October 2006.

The remaining provisions of the Consumer Credit Act 2006 will be brought into force by subsequent Orders.
