This Order brings into force the whole of the Disability Rights Commission Act 1999, so far as it is not already in force, on 4th December 2006. The practical effect is to bring into force the repeal of a few minor and obsolete provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (c.50) relating to codes of practice prepared by the (former) National Disability Council, and the Secretary of State. Codes of practice are now prepared by the Disability Rights Commission under section 53A of the Disability Discrimination Act.
