Amendment of the General Osteopathic Council (Recognition of Qualifications) Rules 2000U.K.

217.  In the General Osteopathic Council (Recognition of Qualifications) Rules 2000 M1, in rule 4 (non-United Kingdom qualifications)—

(a)the existing provision shall be numbered as paragraph (1); and

(b)after paragraph (1) insert—

(2) In considering whether an exempt person M2 has reached the required standard of proficiency for the purposes of paragraph (1)(c), the Registrar—

(a)shall take into account all his relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience, wherever acquired; and

(b)if the applicant holds a qualification which—

(i)was granted otherwise than in a relevant European State, but

(ii)has been accepted by a relevant European State, other than the United Kingdom, as qualifying him to practise as an osteopath in that State,

shall take that acceptance into account..
