The Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2008

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(7) and (9) of the Greater London Authority Act 20071, makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No.3) Order 2008.

Provisions coming into force on 6th April 20082

The following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 2007 shall come into force on 6th April 2008—

a

sections 31 to 36;

b

section 45;

c

sections 47 to 49;

d

section 51; and

e

section 57 and Schedule 2, so far as they are not yet in force and so far as they give effect to the repeals relating to the Museum of London Act 19862.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

Article 2 of this Order brings into force on 6th April 2008, the following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 2007, in so far as they are not already in force—

sections 31 to 36 (planning);
section 45 and sections 47 to 49 (Museum of London);
section 51 (Mayor’s duty to exercise certain powers of appointment); and
section 57 and Schedule 2 (consequential repeals in the Museum of London Act 1986).

The Greater London Authority Act 2007 (Commencement No. 1 and Appointed Day) Order 2007 (S.I.2007/3107) also appointed 30th October 2007 for the purposes of section 59(6) of the Act (which provides that sections 12 to 14 have effect in relation to financial years beginning on or after an appointed day).
