The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred by section 14 of the Local Land Charges Act 1975(1) and with the concurrence of the Treasury, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Rules may be cited as the Local Land Charges (Amendment) Rules 2009 and shall come into force on 1st January 2010.

Amendment to the Local Land Charges Rules 1977

2.  The Local Land Charges Rules 1977(2) are amended in accordance with rule 3.

3.  In Schedule 3 (fees), in item 5 (personal search fee in respect of one parcel of land), in the second column, for “11.00” substitute “22.00”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Rules)

These Rules amend the Local Land Charges Rules 1977 (SI 1977/985) by substituting in Schedule 3 (fees) an increased fee of £22.00 for a personal search in the whole or in part of the register in respect of one parcel of land. The increased fee becomes payable from 1st January 2010.
