2. 1st January 2010 is the appointed day for the coming into force of section 18 of the Act (visits to children in long-term care), in so far as it inserts section 86A(4) and (5) into the 1989 Act(1).
“the 1989 Act” is defined in section 41 of the Act as meaning the Children Act 1989 (c.41).
