Where the opening of all the passenger doors in the side of a rail vehicle is activated by a member of the operator’s staff, or activated automatically, the audible warning device required by paragraph 3(3) of Part 1 of this Schedule must emit a distinct sound for a period of not less than 3 seconds commencing when the doors begin to open.
