The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations the Security Council of the United Nations has, by a resolution adopted on 22nd May 2003, called upon Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom and all other States to apply certain measures to give effect to decisions of that Council in relation to Iraq.

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 1 of the United Nations Act 1946(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows—

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Iraq (United Nations Sanctions) (Amendment) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 14th October 2011.

Amendment of the principal Order

2.—(1) In this Order “the principal Order” means The Iraq (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2003(2).

(2) In article 4 of the principal Order the definition of “restricted goods” is replaced by the following definition:

“restricted goods” means the goods, software and technology specified in Schedule 2 to the Export Control Order 2008(3);

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, made under the United Nations Act 1946, amends the Iraq (United Nations Sanctions) Order 2003 (S.I.2003/1519) to update the definition of “restrictive goods”.

S.I.2008/3231, Schedule 2 was substituted by S.I.2010/2007; there are other amending instruments but none are relevant. .
