2.—(1) Section 9 of the Wills Act 1837(1) is amended as follows.
(2) The existing text becomes subsection (1).
(3) After that subsection, insert—
“(2) For the purposes of paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection (1), in relation to wills made on or after 31 January 2020 and on or before 31 January 2022, “presence” includes presence by means of videoconference or other visual transmission.”.
1837 c.26. Section 9 was substituted, in relation to England and Wales, by the Administration of Justice Act 1982 (c.53), section 17, and repealed, in relation to Northern Ireland, by S.I. 1994/1899.
