The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 199951 are amended as follows.

In regulation 23(1) (persons by whom theory tests may be conducted)—
a
in paragraph (d), omit the words “In Wales, a person appointed by the chief officer of any fire brigade maintained in pursuance of the Fire Services Act 1947 or,”; and
b
after paragraph (d), insert—

in England or Wales, a person appointed by any fire and rescue authority for the purpose of testing employees of any fire and rescue authority;

In regulation 24(1) (persons by whom practical and unitary tests may be conducted)—
a
in paragraph (c), omit the words “In Wales, a person appointed by the chief officer of any fire brigade maintained in pursuance of the Fire Services Act 1947 or,”; and
b
after paragraph (c), insert—
ca
in England or Wales, a person appointed by any fire and rescue authority for the purpose of testing employees of any fire and rescue authority;
