Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999E+W

51.—(1) The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999(1) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 23(1) (persons by whom theory tests may be conducted)—

(a)in paragraph (d), omit the words “In Wales, a person appointed by the chief officer of any fire brigade maintained in pursuance of the Fire Services Act 1947 or,”; and

(b)after paragraph (d), insert—

“(da)in England or Wales, a person appointed by any fire and rescue authority for the purpose of testing employees of any fire and rescue authority;”.

(3) In regulation 24(1) (persons by whom practical and unitary tests may be conducted)—

(a)in paragraph (c), omit the words “In Wales, a person appointed by the chief officer of any fire brigade maintained in pursuance of the Fire Services Act 1947 or,”; and

(b)after paragraph (c), insert—

“(ca)in England or Wales, a person appointed by any fire and rescue authority for the purpose of testing employees of any fire and rescue authority;”.
