The Welsh Ministers in exercise of the powers conferred on the National Assembly for Wales by section 108(3)(a) and (b), (5) and section 210 of the Education Act 2002(1) and now vested in them(2) and having made such arrangements for consultation as they consider appropriate in accordance with section 117 of the Education Act 2002 make the following order:

1.—(1) — The title of this Order is the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2008 and it comes into force on 1 August 2008.

(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.

2.—(1) — In the Welsh language text of the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (Wales) Order 2008(3) in—

(a)articles 4(2), 5(2), 6(2), 7(2), 8(2), 9(2), 10(2), 11(2), 12(2), 13(2), 14(2) and 15(3) for “Y darpariaethau” substitute “Mae'r darpariaethau”; and

(b)articles 4(3), 5(3), 6(3), 7(3), 8(3), 9(3), 10(3), 11(3), 12(3), 13(3), 14(3) and 15(4) for “egluro'r” substitute “dangos y”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (Wales) Order 2008 (“the 2008 Order”) gives legal effect to the programmes of study which sets out what pupils should be taught and attainment targets for them in respect of pupils in key stages 2 to 4. This Order amends the 2008 Order so as to correct mistakes in the Welsh language text.

The functions of the National Assembly for Wales under these sections were transferred to the Welsh Ministers under paragraph 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32).
