In regulation 4(2) of the Local Government (Committees and Political Groups) Regulations 199023 for the words “which is a local education authority as defined in section 114 of the Education Act 1944, any functions with respect to education” substitute “any education functions (within the meaning of section 579(1) of the Education Act 1996)”.
