The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14(1) and (4)(b) of the Scottish Register of Tartans Act 2008(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
In accordance with section 14(3) of that Act the Scottish Ministers have consulted the Keeper of the Scottish Register of Tartans(2).
The Keeper means the Keeper of the Records of Scotland; but when carrying out any function in relation to the Register, the Keeper is to be known as the Keeper of the Scottish Register of Tartans (section 3(1)(a) of the Scottish Register of Tartans Act 2008).
