333.Paragraph 8 of Schedule 23 provides that any agreement conferred by the Speaker to the appointment of Electoral Commissioners-designate (for the purpose of section 3(2)) prior to Royal Assent shall be treated in the same fashion as agreement conferred after that point. Consultation with the leaders of relevant parliamentary parties conducted prior to Royal Assent is similarly validated.

334.Paragraph 11 of Schedule 23 makes interim arrangements for parties to confirm their registered particulars pending the commencement of section 45 (read with section 32). The treasurer of a registered party will be required to submit a notification to the Commission which complies with section 32(2) and (3) within the period beginning 11 months after the commencement date for Part II (16th February 2001) and ending 15 months after that date.
