Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011

Section 16: Appointment of persons not employed by elected local policing body

103.Section 16 allows a police and crime commissioner or the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime to appoint a person to a post, or designate a person as having specified duties or responsibilities, when required or authorised to do so by any Act, regardless of whether or not the person is a member of the staff of that police and crime commissioner or of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime.
