Present,
The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
And Whereas the
And Whereas it is expedient that the said Law should be confirmed by Her Majesty.
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers vested in Her by the said Section and all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered as follows:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Confirmation of Legislation) (Cyprus) Order, 1953, and shall come into operation on the twenty-third day of June, 1953.
2. The said Law is hereby confirmed.

By this Order the Queen in Council confirms Cyprus Law No. 1 of 1952 entitled “A Law to consolidate and amend the Shipping (Regulations as to Safety) Laws and to make provision for the Certification and Welfare of Seamen”, as amended by Law No. 17 of 1953 entitled “A Law to amend the Merchant Shipping (Safety Regulation and Seamen) Law, 1952”.
