The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 9 and 12 of the Superannuation Act 1972(1) and Schedule 3 thereto, and by section 35(7) and (8) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975(2), after consulting with representatives of the local education authorities, teachers and other persons likely to be affected in accordance with section 9(5) of the Superannuation Act 1972, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
1975 c. 60; section 35(7) was amended by the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977 (c. 5), section 22(7), by the Social Security Act 1979 (c. 18), Schedule 3, paragraph 18, and by the Social Security Act 1985 (c. 53), Schedule 3, paragraph 2; section 35(8) was amended by the Social Security Act 1985, Schedule 3, paragraph 8 and a relevant exception to it was prescribed by the Occupational Pension Schemes (Revaluation) Regulations 1985 (S.I. 1985/1930), regulation 10.
