The Building Societies Commission, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 53(9) of the Building Societies Act 1986(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1986 c. 53; Section 53 was amended by the Banking Act 1987 (c. 22), Schedule 6, paragraph 26(4); the Companies Act 1989 (c. 40), section 80; the Companies (No. 2) (Northern Ireland) Order 1990, S.I. 1990/1504 (N.I. 10), article 24; the Banking Co-ordination (Second Council Directive) Regulations 1992, S.I. 1992/3218, regulation 76; the Pensions Act 1995 (c. 26), Schedule 3, paragraph 16; the Financial Institutions (Prudential Supervision) Regulations 1996, S.I. 1996/1669, regulation 7 and Schedule 5, paragraph 4 and the Building Societies Act 1997 (c. 32), Schedule 7 paragraph 19 and was modified by the Companies Act 1989, section 88(3)(b), (5) and (6).
