Title, coming into force and application

1.—(1) The title of this Order is The Fire and Rescue Authorities (Best Value Performance Indicators) (Wales) Order 2008 and it comes into force on 18 March 2008.

(2) This Order applies only to best value authorities in Wales which are a fire and rescue authority constituted by a scheme to which section 4 of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004(1) applies and has effect in relation to the year 2008—2009 and subsequent financial years.

Performance indicators

2.  The performance indicators by reference to which the performance of each fire and rescue authority in Wales will be measured in exercising their functions are hereby specified in—

(a)Schedule 1 (Risk Reduction and Community Safety); and

(b)Schedule 2 (Effective Response).
